Women just couldn’t get enough of shopping. Most consider it a therapeutic activity that can relieve their stress and depression or boredom.
When it comes to shopping for clothes, however, many still commit the same mistakes. The result? A too tight or loose fit. When this happens, the clothing ends up not being used at all or not being bought in the first place.
So how do you find the top or bottom that fits just right for you?
The Pants
Fashion experts explain that pants are normally cut in batches of 100s. This being the case, the top one in the batch will have a different fit than the others despite having the same size.
When fitting pants including jeans, make sure then to bring two sizes in the dressing room. One should be one size up and another one size down.
Dry Clean Tag
If possible, don’t buy clothes with a tag that says dry-clean-only. Dry cleaning can be expensive so make sure to get only those that can be hand or machine washed.
Did you know, however, that 90 percent of clothes with a dry-clean-only tag can actually be washed by hands? This is according to Lindsey Boyd, a graduate of Cornell University’s Fiber Science, Textile and Apparel Management and Design program.
Tailoring Option
Another common situation that normally happens when women shop for clothes is they get frustrated upon finding out that the blouse, skirt or pants they so love to buy is not available in their size. You don’t have to fret, though, because you can get the size bigger than you and have it tailored to your size. This is possible when there are seams in the hems, waist and shoulder areas.
Best Days to Shop
If you’re a frequent shopper at JCPenney, be sure to do your shopping next time at the start of the month. This is the time when the department store receives its newest products which means most sizes will be available then.
For those looking for swimsuits to use this summer, shop for the best ones early in the day. The reason for this is most women would feel thinner in the morning plus you will still have the energy to go through the stocks available. An advantage as well is that the racks would be orderly and full giving you the best chance to get the size you want.
